Windows 10 Download
THANK YOU~!
I started with nothing on Sunday, and with all the great info and tools from the Tonymacx86 site, I now have a monster Mac Pro (Asus P9X79 i7 3930k)
Working on little bits and pieces, but it seems to be stable and happy. NEVER thought I could do it - especially when the going got a little rough, but every time I had a question, there was an answer here somewhere. THANK YOU!
A few follow ups:
Wake from Sleep? I know, there is a lot written about it, but I am a total noob, and was hoping someone had a magic bullet for this mobo.
Dual booting? How do I set up so that I get a choice of which OS to use at reboot?
And now the biggie - Parallels? I know I can install a fresh copy of Windows, BUT what I'd like to do is use the same instance of Windows either in it's native form OR in Parallels - that way the desktop, etc, etc stay consistent. Make sense? Possible?
Thanks again!

Windows 10 Free Upgrade

Windows 10 Problems
- After you upgrade from Parallels Desktop version 4 to a later version, you Windows XP virtual machine fails to boot: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. You go to BSOD when trying to start a virtual machine migrated from the PC: BSOD STOP 0x0000007B.
- I installed a brand new retail version of Windows 10 on Bootcamp and activated it. Then I proceeded to install it on Parallels in mac OS as a virtual machine but now it keeps asking me for activation while operating in Parallels!
- Installation will continue normally and you can start trying Windows 10 from Parallels 9 on your Mac. I'm not sure if this works for Parallels 10 (i think so) and i'm also not sure if this will work for other (older) Windows installations.
- Follow up: Parallels?? I think I *DO* want to install windows properly - don't I? And as far as I can tell, the problem does lie in the fact that Parallels is designed to install very simply in a Bootcamp environment, but there are a few missing/misplaced pieces in a Hackintosh environment, or Parallels would have found them for me.
- Install Windows 10 on OSX Parallels - Setup Media Driver Missing. Ask Question. 1 (instead of SATA 0:1)-> Restart VM. Installation will continue normally and you can start trying Windows 10 from Parallels 9 on your Mac. I'm not sure if this works for Parallels 10 (i think so) and i'm also not sure if this will work for other (older.
- And Parallels doesn’t just run Windows 10: it can run multiple versions of Windows, Linux, and even older Mac operating systems in virtual machines. Plus, heavy-duty PC games are still written.
